Vibestarter
Serpin Taxt's review for Vibestarter
Score: 1350
POSITIVE

"Cyphr is a legit dev, maybe misunderstood practices"

Cyphr and Vibestarter were part of our vibeathon just a month or so ago. Vibestarter is a very cool project and is trying to build up their credibility score. They've made leaving a review / vouching for them part of their incentive model, and that's up for you guys to decide if that's in violation of social constructs or not. For reference, incentivized reviews on products like Google reviews are against their ToS, but on Amazon just require a disclaimer (paid review, essentially) I'm evaluating how to handle this to be more clear and will work on a solution, but Vibestarter is definitely a good project by a legit, well known dev in the space that has reputation.

I have nothing against the founder of this project or the project itself, HOWEVER, we all understand what this is about. I was one step away from checking out the project as soon as I registered. And maybe I would have even supported it with a positive review, adding some details about the project. BUT, what I saw can only be called an artificial inflation of one's credibility score. You wrote: "Vibestarter is a very cool project and is trying to build up their credibility score." But nobody is against leaving a natural review, maybe even a positive one, for natural interaction with the project. But if the project is "trying to build up their credibility score," it means there are doubts that Ethos works as it should. Otherwise, it wouldn't need to try, and everything would come in time. I just want to remind you that this issue has a fairly long history of precedents. And the matter is very delicate. Projects have been slashed and criticized for the same thing. If we organize a slash round now and the project is defended based on the results, the entire Ethos will lose its meaning. By changing the rules for personal interests, we make the principles flexible, and that's impossible. It will end up being that some are allowed to do it, while others are not. "I see the situation unfolding, and as I mentioned earlier, the arrival of projects like Re and this incident is a first signal of what is to come." "We all, especially the ardent supporters of ethical thinking, should be prepared for what will happen next. To some extent, this is a problem that is slowly but surely beginning to manifest." And God forbid this is allowed and gets applied to people who are also good people and are just trying to boost their credibility score.

ZET right.
why we should ban user who give positive review each others but give positive review project which force us to review and vouch unorganically? Its not fair. Ethos is not for quest

ZET is right, these reviews are biased and deceitful, and this is something that should not be promoted.
