XPs earned through sybil manipulation and its time to redistribute

Created: March 4, 2026 at 02:55 PMStatus: ACTIVE

Description

The 47.8k XP on this account was earned through sybil manipulation and Serpin has already slashed this account twice. once for AI slop review farming, once for operating an elaborate sybil network.

Slash I: https://app.ethos.network/activity/slash/98/farming-ethos-using-near-identical-positive-reviews-ai-slop-and-inauthentic

Slash II: https://app.ethos.network/activity/slash/171/slash-ii-this-person-has-enabled-and-is-operating-an-elaborate-sybil-network

This XP slash is to take back a portion of that XP and redistribute it to slash voters.

Interesting slash. I'm not sure this is what I had in mind with slashes originally as this account has already been slashed multiple times and done nothing new to be slashed again However, they do have XP that is better used in other places in the Ethos "economy" I need to think about this one a bit

To be honest, slashing to share XP doesn’t feel right to me. Maybe a different mechanism needs to be implemented.

Can you be sure this guy made hid xp from sybilling? Have you checked the dates on when his xp was earned and the dates his sybils were invited? Have you checked Sepolia testnet to see his activity from testnet and the reward he got from that vs the sybil issue? He earned basically fuck all xp since end of s0. This feels like a lazy xp grab slash. Did he abuse ethos? Yes Does he deserve the xp being removed? Yes Is this the right mechanism? I don't think so He should get 0'd and the wilting flower treatment by the team.

It's usually much easier to decide where to cast your vote, but I paused to think here. The slash was probably created in accordance with the rules, but it could lead to a whole host of even more controversial slashes. I believe the mechanism for removing illegally obtained XP should favour the Ethos distributor and not the slash voters
