"fusaka"
The FUSAKA update is coming to #ethereum on December 3rd. Let's take a simple look at what this update is:
Like when iOS and Android are updated:
speed increases, battery drains less, applications run more smoothly
Fusaka does exactly that on Ethereum.
Goal: to speed up the network, reduce transaction costs
To make Layer-2s (Arbitrum, Optimism, Base, zkSync, etc.) cheaper and more efficient
To reduce the load on "computers" called nodes/validators
So, why is such an update being made?
-L2s are growing too much, Ethereum needs more data
-Hundreds of millions of transactions are "written" to Ethereum via L2s every day. This:
Causes the network to freeze
Increases the load
Causes gas to rise in some periods
Makes it difficult to run a node
Transaction fees (gas) will be more stable and lower, it will not completely reset, but transactions on L2s will be much cheaper.
Layer-2s will increase to 2-3 times more capacity
Ethereum makes L2s stronger. The chain will not be garbage. What are the projects with the potential to take the biggest slice?
