Towns App

Was a very early user of Towns and using it for the last 4-5 months and my experience has been really great. One of the best socialfi projects that I have come across backed by a top tier team. The future of messages and privacy will be decentralized and onchain and Towns will be the home of that. Heavily bullish and big on Towns.

good in concept, still too young to tell where this goes

as a user, they definitely came out strong & I'm quite eager to test out the product / learn more from the team directly. on the B2B end, they are one of a dozen of projects that are horrendously hard to get ahold of so I'm fairly confident other folks would've had the same experience.

Towns has a brilliant concept, essentially creating a "crypto-Discord" that blends Web3 innovation with community building. Running on the Towns Protocol and built on Base, it allows users to create private, onchain group chats where you can earn rewards for sharing ideas, building exclusive communities, or even getting tipped for witty memes and jokes. The onchain reputation system, like Towns Cred, adds transparency and value to interactions, making it a fresh, engaging platform for crypto enthusiasts. Highly recommend exploring it for anyone into decentralized social spaces

I have a channel called "Tes Alpha" on Towns. This is the best Web3 messaging platform I know, with outstanding features such as: - Public, private, and threaded chats, and pinned posts. - Tipping each other. - Trading directly in the Channel, supporting Base and Solana. - Daily check-in mechanism and Points. - Joining other people's Channels. And a new feature today (07/18): Delegating your Towns to a Node Operator.

Townsxyz fosters decentralized chats and NFT communities

I signed up for Towns shortly after it launched, which was like a year ago at this point I think. All of a sudden it is back on the radar with their upcoming TGE and recent raise. The app was total trash when it launched. I tried it recently and I will admit it has improved a lot since it first popped up. That said, I don't see any real user adoption yet and I struggle to see how this app is going to remain relevant after airdrop farmers move on. Thus far, the app doesn't really offer anything unique or useful that would make me want to use it regularly.

Building crypto's own Discord, recently teased a token.

I remember when I created a Towns profile. At first, it seemed interesting, and there was even talk that it could replace Discord, but that didn't happen. I even received a reward from the project for my active work, so I will leave a positive review. I don't know how well the project is functioning now, as I don't use it anymore, but who knows, maybe it will still have its say.
