Coinbase is one of the most trusted exchanges, and he’s laying down the groundwork for crypto with the Base layer. He’s truly moving the whole space in the right direction!

Good & Bad

Runs one of the biggest exchanges that has since broadened to creating its own separate chain. Brian has been spearheading the regulatory fight with crypto for years, incurring significant costs to move the industry forward. Clarity is finally emerging.

He has led a team of dedicated and amazing contributors to the crypto space, especially in security of assets which is a dying problem in the ecosystem. I am sure there a more implementations to come that will play a significant role in asset security and easy of access. Top Chad.

He has been able to tackle the following: Co-founded Coinbase in 2012, making crypto accessible to the masses Helped bring crypto into the mainstream with a user-friendly exchange Championed regulatory clarity while defending crypto innovation Took Coinbase public in 2021, a first for a major crypto company Supported development of layer-2 and scalability solutions Invested in and promoted decentralized finance (DeFi) initiatives Advocated for financial freedom and open economic systems Launched Base, a layer-2 network built on Ethereum Backed research and education through donations and funding. Became a vocal leader in crypto policy and regulation discussions If you’re not willing to acknowledge what he’s done, I’m not sure what to tell you, but he’s done a plethora of things to push things forward.

What Coinbase has achieved with Brian Armstrong at the helm of it all is nothing short of astounding. Building an exchange is infinitely more complex than shipping a protocol as you're at the forefront of all the arrows from regulators, it's a game of politics, institution deals take months etc - it's made even more challenging due to the fact we operate in a highly volatile space. Today Coinbase is a force to be reckoned with, fighting for the legitimisation of our entire space & is among the top 5 exchanges. As a publicly traded company, they also appeal to a broader demographic.
